You are registering as a member for Fall 2025.

Compass Family Cooperative Membership is available to currently homeschooling families that make up the Compass community. Members can choose to take classes on campus, attend the Compass Teen Community activities, access our Facebook group and member website, and attend any additional activities. The cost is $90 per family each semester, with a $20 cleaning refund (no cleaning refund offered to those not taking classes on campus). If requested in writing, a 50% refund will be given if membership is canceled before the first day of the semester. No refunds beginning the first day of classes.

Please read the member agreement and standard of moral conduct with all family members age 8 and older before submitting your registration form. Every adult and child is responsible to understand and adhere to the member agreement and standard of moral conduct at all Compass Family Cooperative activities on and off campus.

1. Member Agreement:

If you or any member of your family violates any part of the agreement below, your membership may be revoked and your family may be unable to register with Compass in the future. Read EVERY line carefully and thoroughly before signing the agreement. If you have any questions, reach out to the board at [email protected] for help.

Member Agreement:

*I understand that Compass Family Cooperative is a homeschool community and verify that my family is currently homeschooling.

*I understand that Compass Family Cooperative is an inclusive, value-based homeschool organization with a shared mission and vision that does not subscribe to any identified religious, political, or community organization.

*I understand that the purpose of a membership in Compass Family Cooperative is for my family to join with other homeschooling families and together create an inclusive community of support, including access to classes on the Compass Family Cooperative campus and the Compass Teen Community activities. Joining the Compass community brings both benefits and responsibilities for my family.

*I understand and recognize that the nature of the Compass community is inclusive to all homeschoolers. There may be views or beliefs held by individuals within our organization that do not suit my family. It is my responsibility to determine whether a mentor or class is a good fit for us.

*I understand that Compass Family Cooperative works to facilitate a shared learning environment. Each individual is ultimately responsible for their own learning and education.

* I understand that Compass Family Cooperative is managed by a volunteer, elected Board of Directors. I will respectfully take any disputes, grievances, or concerns about the operation of Compass to the Board. I agree to abide by the decisions reached by the Board.

*I understand that each parent school (class offered) is operated in a free market system and that mentors have ownership of their classes within parameters outlined by the Board.

*I understand that mentors are approved by the Board on a semester-by-semester basis.

* I understand that it is my responsibility to make mentors aware of any needs of my family, including allergies, medical conditions, and any accommodations my child may need.

*I understand my membership will be in effect from the time of registration until the next semester's registration. Refunds for membership fees will not be issued on or after the first day of the semester. If requested in writing, a 50% refund will be issued if membership is withdrawn before the first day of classes.

*I understand that I am responsible for any damage I cause, and for any damage my family members (spouse and children) cause.

*I understand that children are never allowed to use the elevator without an adult, and agree to only utilize areas and entrances designated for Compass use (any exceptions must be approved by the Board in advance, on a semester-by-semester basis). Misuse of the area or facility may result in the complete loss of building use for our organization. I agree to respectfully help those around me remember these rules.

*I understand that children of any age who are not in class must remain in common areas and be supervised by parents in the rec room or outdoors. As a parent, I will remain on campus during co-op hours to supervise my own children. If a rare exception is required, I will make arrangements with another adult to accept responsibility for my children. If I intend to bring either adults or children outside my immediate household to Compass Family Cooperative, I will first request permission from the Board.

* I understand that the Compass Family Cooperative facebook group is the platform for communicating between members. A link to join this group will be emailed upon completion of registration. If I choose not to join the facebook group, I understand that I may miss information from members or from the Board, including activities for the Compass Teen Community.

*I understand that the Board may revoke my membership at any time for violation of this agreement.

* I understand that the Compass community values the safety of its members and does not allow registered sex offenders on campus or at any activity.

* I agree to uphold the Compass Family Cooperative Mission Statement:

As home educators, we believe every individual possesses the innate potential of discovering their own moral compass to use as a guide throughout life's journey. We embrace the value of being authentic, compassionate, and trustworthy, with open arms, minds and hearts. We seek to explore, discover, learn, and change the world for good. As an organization, we strive to provide shared learning opportunities through a free market system. (1 required) I agree to uphold the member agreement
2. As a cooperative organization, we rely on all members sharing their skills and talents to keep our community thriving.

In what ways and what special skills would you be willing to contribute to our community now or in the future? Several example: you may be passionate about science or arts and wish to mentor in these fields or host a science fair or talent show, you may have excellent leadership or organizational skills and would be interested in serving on the board of directors at some point in the future, you may be particularly good at handyman projects and be able to help when things need worked on, or you have a history of hosting excellent parties and would love to help organize some for our group, etc. 3. Compass Family Cooperative Standard of Moral Conduct

All Compass Family Cooperative members age eight and above must read (or be read to), understand, and agree to abide by these standards on and off campus. After you have discussed these thoroughly as a family, please check "I agree" below.

Standard of Moral Conduct:

*Behavior: I agree to act responsibly and treat others with respect, kindness, and compassion in speech and action as I demonstrate integrity and honesty. I will refrain from any expression, gossip, or physical contact that may harm or make another feel uncomfortable. I will not bring anything to Compass Family Cooperative classes or activities that may be considered a weapon. Romantic physical affection between peers, such as kissing, hand holding or other gestures that sometimes accompany those who “pair off” is not allowed at Compass Family Cooperative, including during co-op hours and Compass Teen Community activities.

*Dress and Appearance: Clothing should not be revealing or offensive. All Compass Family Cooperative members should practice good personal hygiene.

*Language: Language used at Compass Family Cooperative and Compass Teen Community events should be clean and intelligent – that which uplifts, encourages, and compliments others. Adults and children should only use the names of God and Jesus Christ in reverence. Vulgar or lewd conversation or jokes are not permitted.

*Media: Offensive materials such as movies, music, videos/DVDs, books, magazines, pictures, websites, apps, and other media are not allowed at Compass Family Cooperative, including during co- op hours and Compass Teen Community activities. This includes anything vulgar, immoral, violent, or pornographic.

*Service to Our Organization: As members of Compass Family Cooperative, we agree to fulfill our membership responsibilities. These include cleaning the building as assigned, hall monitoring as assigned, attending the annual member meeting to cast votes, maintaining a neat and orderly environment, keeping track of our own possessions, and being attentive to our family's needs
